Advantages of a Home Infrared Sauna:
Home infrared saunas are usually more comfortable than portable saunas and are a much more stylish piece of equipment for your home.
They are generally easy to put together, and often come with features such as chromotherapy lighting, air ionizers, and sound systems included as standard.
Home Infrared Saunas usually come with a 5 year+ guarantee, so although they are more expensive than portable saunas, there is less risk in the purchase.
Disadvantages of a Home Infrared Sauna:
Many home infrared saunas state they are designed for 2 or 3 people when in reality they suit 1 or 2 (unless you are extremely good friends)
Sometimes infrared saunas do not reach the highest temperature advertised, and some have higher EMF levels in reality than the manufacturers claim

JNH Lifestyles 2 Person Far Infrared Sauna:
If you’re looking for quality workmanship, the 2 Person Far Infrared Sauna from JNH Lifestyles could be the one for you. Stylish and effective this is a strong choice.
Features:
- 7 Carbon fiber far infrared heaters
- FSC certified “green” wood, NO chemical added. Double layer Canadian hemlock T&G timber
- Built-in AUX control and 2 premium speakers
- Digital temperature and time control
- 5-year warranty
Pros and Cons:
The JNH Lifestyles 2 Person Far Infrared Sauna is beautifully crafted from quality Canadian Hemlock timber and is extremely easy to assemble. Some of the pieces are heavy, so we advise two-person assembly.
Seven carbon fiber FAR infrared heaters on the back and sides of the sauna emit good all-round heat, and the spacious interior fits two people snugly, or one easily.
There is an interior bench but we recommend also purchasing the backrests (available separately) for more comfortable use.
While the unit fits together really well with buckles to strap it together, the door isn’t sealed adequately and can let out heat, so we recommend using weather stripping to make it close tighter.
A few customers have noted that this unit has higher than advertised EMF ratings, but the company maintains the EMF emission is 2-3mg at 4 inches. The only other problem with this unit we can see is the sound system which could be better quality.
Overall:
The JNH Lifestyles 2 Person Far Infrared Sauna is our favourite sauna as it is both stylish and effective, giving good all-over heat.
Dynamic Saunas Barcelona 1-2 Person Far Infrared Sauna:
A good-looking unit with chromotherapy and foot heater as standard, Dynamic Saunas Barcelona 1-2 Person Far Infrared Sauna is one of the easiest saunas to assemble.
Features:
- 6 Low EMF FAR infrared carbon heating panels
- Natural reforested Canadian hemlock wood construction
- MP3 auxiliary connection
- Chromotherapy lighting
- Foot heater
Pros and Cons:
The Barcelona 1-2 Person Far Infrared Sauna from Dynamic Saunas is nicely finished in Canadian Hemlock and is easy to put together in less than an hour, although we recommend 2-person assembly. The LED colour therapy lights are a pleasant addition, and the audio system works well. The internal and external control panels and remote control for the lights are convenient.
Although this unit is advertised as a 1-2 person sauna, it fits 1 person comfortably, 2 are a squeeze. It is not possible to stretch out your legs, even for single-use.
Again, there are questions about the EMF emissions from this sauna. Although it is advertised as low EMF, customers report high emissions when tested independently. In addition, this sauna does not emit all-over heat as the bottom panels aren’t very efficient.
Overall:
A good looking-unit which fits well into a small space, but questionable EMF claims and poor all-over heat.

Sante Fe Infrared 3 Person Carbon Sauna:
The stylish Sante Fe Infrared 3 Person Carbon Sauna delivers good craftsmanship and some of the best accessories on the market. So if you’re looking for bells and whistles, this could be the sauna for you.
Features:
- 7 FAR infrared carbon heating panels
- Natural hemlock construction
- Oxygen ionizer
- Chromotherapy lighting
- AM/FM stereo radio, CD player, AUX mp3 connection, built-in speakers.
Pros and Cons:
On the whole, this unit is well made and easy to put together although some customers have reported issues with holes drilled in the wrong place and poor quality screws which is disappointing for a unit at this price.
We recommend at least two people for assembly as the sections are very heavy and build it where you plan to use it as it’s too heavy to move afterward. Note, you will need to make electrical modifications to accommodate the 20 amp power.
This sauna comes with great additional features, including chromotherapy lighting, a good sound system for radio, CD and MP3, an oxygen ionizer and chromotherapy lighting. Backrests are fitted as standard which is unusual for products of this type.
Although this sauna is advertised as a 3 person unit, it only accommodates 2 comfortably and taller people (over 5’11”) may not be able to stand.
If you prefer to use a sauna at very high temperatures, this is not the unit for you. Although the advertised highest temperature is 141, in reality it is more like 120 and it takes a good 45 minutes to reach it.
Overall:
The additional features in this sauna are excellent and it is roomy especially for 2 people. For the price, we’d expect better quality materials, more accurate heating and speedier warm-up.
JNH Lifestyles 1 Person NO EMF Infrared Sauna:
You’ll pay a bit more for a JNH Lifestyles 1 Person NO EMF Infrared Sauna, but you’ll also get more with quality materials and zero EMF.
Features:
- Zero EMF heater tested and certified by Intertek
- 6 commercial grade carbon fiber far infrared heaters, ETL approved
- Double layer 100% Canadian hemlock T&G solid timber, FSC certified wood, no chemical added
- Built-in 3.5mm AUX control, volume rocker, and 2 premium speakers. Long lasting LED lighting.
- Slim space-efficient design
Pros and Cons:
The JNH Lifestyles 1 Person NO EMF Infrared Sauna is the most expensive sauna that we are including in this review but the quality can be seen in the materials and construction. It’s extremely easy to assemble particularly for two people, although a single person could also manage it if necessary.
The best thing about this sauna is the zero EMF rating. It’s also great for small spaces. The only reservation we have is that you might need to use weatherstrips on the door to make it fit tightly and prevent heat escaping.
Overall:
A pricey option, but if you’re looking for zero EMF and quality workmanship, this could be the sauna for you.
Radiant Saunas 2-Person Hemlock Infrared Sauna:
With easy assembly, plug and play electronics, oxygen ionizer, and chromotherapy lighting, the Radiant Saunas 2-Person Hemlock Infrared Sauna is another popular choice.
Features:
- 6 carbon fiber far infrared heaters
- Low EMF
- Oxygen ionizer
- Chromotherapy lighting
- Music system with AUX inputs, radio, and CD player
Pros and Cons:
The Radiant Saunas 2-Person Hemlock Infrared Sauna is easy to assemble, particularly if you have two people to lift the heavy front panel. The wiring has plugs for easy and safe connection and four of the heating panels are premounted. It is convenient to have control panels inside and out. Chromotherapy lighting, oxygen ionizer, and backrests are included as standard.
Some of the accessories (towel hooks, cup holders) seem cheap for the price of the unit. The preset channels on the radio are lost each time you unplug, which is recommended between uses.
The biggest problem with this sauna is the time it takes to heat up and the top temperature which many customers have found does not reach the advertised 141. If you’re looking for a sauna at the highest temperature, this is probably not the one for you. It’s also pretty snug for two people, but pleasant for one.
Some customers have found the EMF levels higher than advertised.
Overall:
If you’re looking for a speedy warm-up time and top temperatures, this is not the sauna for you. It’s also a bit tight for two people. However, it’s quick and easy to assemble and comes with an air ionizer and chromotherapy lighting as standard.
